CMLE Linux Engineer Certification:
Examination and Requirements
The certification exam is included in the cost of the training, and follows the day after the 3 day CMLE Linux Engineer training class concludes.
The exam can be purchased separately, but due to the fact the CMLE certification is vendor neutral, we strongly suggest that you enroll in our training before attempting the exam.
The 5 hour examination is performance based, and will be administered on live systems.
Linux distributions will differ in administration utilities, kernels, software and hardware management, environments and proprietary features.
Our training covers a wide range of binary distributions and our labs include different base operating systems. You can expect to tested on your ability to configure, diagnose and repair various Linux operating systems and server applications.
- You will be tested on your ability to work within virtual environments, cloning and restoring an installation, moving server configurations to remote Linux computers, responding to security threats and essential network administration duties.
- You will be expected to demonstrate strong skills in user administration, file systems, compiling applications from source code, package management, commands and script execution.
- You will be expected to demonstrate strong skills in various server applications including Apache, Postfix, Syslog-ng, MySQL, Nagios and Squid.
Testing results will be emailed within 3 business days of the exam.
CMLE Linux Engineer
Having a CMLE certification shows that you have expert level skills in Linux administration, regardless of the distribution.

- Must score 70% or higher on the CMLE exam.
